Batcamp 2001 was held over the August Bank Holiday weekend, and was not at the usual farm, but at another a mile or so up the road.

The Saturday was particularly glorious; we had a lot of sitting about enjoying the sunshine and even had to send out for ice for the drinks.

On Saturday evening we played hot air balloon, and as the evening wore on we got out telescopes and watched a particularly spectacular fireball

Sunday was a very different day. We tried flying kites early in the morning, but persistent rain meant we didn’t do much with the day except for sit in the mess tent drinking beer.

There was a trip to McDonalds; no one would use the toilet tent for fear of anyone hearing their “pooing noises”.

There doesn’t seem to be many photos surviving from this camp…
