When people heard where we were going for a holiday the immediate response was “Where?”, followed by “Why?” I’ve always fancied the idea of visiting Samarkand, and when we heard that this was one of the ports of call on an escorted tour offered by Titan Travel we booked up and off we went. We went on an eleven day trip as part of a group of twenty-seven people. Staying in five hotels and covering over a thousand miles I wouldn’t say it was a holiday – more of an adventure.
